Black Draak Code Of Ethics

We have seen hundreds of clients lose thousands of dollars to unscrupulous actors who seek only to profit. Even if they don't have the necessary skills to do the job correctly, they still unfortunately take the job. The list of items below represents things we will do, and will not do, in an effort to combat this shady behavior in the industry.

  1. We will follow Robert C. Martin's Clean Code Principles (SOLID), as well as DRY and YAGNI. This will keep our code clean, maintainable, and modular, so that if clients need a change, it won't require the entire project to be redone from scratch.
  2. Clients need some description of a web hosting provider. In the event that we do provide web hosting, we will ensure that the client has credentials to access their hosting account. That way in the event that they choose to no longer do business with us, then the client can move their code to a different host as they see fit. Hosting should not be used as a trap for clients.
  3. Always recommend another quality contractor to do that which we cannot. This protects against clients paying extra for services provided by contractors who do not have the requisite skillset for a portion of a job, just so the contractor can bring in more money.

Please note that we cannot control our affiliates to block them from hiring DEI. We do try to keep only to companies with no interest in DEI. As we grow, we'll replace companies who have DEI in their culture, with those who are egalitarian instead.
